Summer of Minecraft

We’re excited to announce our summer schedule and a HUGE project! During the school summer holidays we’re going to be open every Thursday from 9am onwards (starting next Thursday, 23rd July) and we’ll be doing all kinds of Minecraft-related things.

Our really big project is “Making Bromyard” – we’re going to literally make Bromyard inside Minecraft and we want you to help* – but we’re also going to be doing a whole load of other Minecraft stuff, like:

  • Shakescraft – build Shakespeare’s house in Minecraft for a chance to win prizes
  • Learn to code with Minecraft
  • Make a real life crafting table
  • Print your own t-shirt**
  • Make Minecraft masks and papercraft**
  • New to Minecraft? Learn what it is, how to set it up and how to get started.

If you’re under 18 you’ll need to bring some kind of adult with you but don’t worry, even if they’re not a Minecraft fan we have loads for them to do and there’s free Wi-fi, tea and coffee. You can drop in at a time that suits you (you don’t have to arrive at 9 and stay all day or anything) but if it turns out to be oversubscribed we will be encouraging people to book a slot ahead of time.

At this stage we’re hoping it’ll be popular and we’ve had loads of positive feedback, but we know that not everyone who wants to get involved will be able to come along on a Thursday. That’s okay! If you have a Minecraft PC account you’ll be able to get involved with some activities from home.

Our Thursday open evenings will also still be happening as normal, and members can of course come any time they like!

Watch this space for more information or follow us on Facebook, Twitter or Google+.

*Don’t worry, we know it’ll take longer than six weeks!
**Please note that some activities (like t-shirt printing) attract a small charge to cover the cost of materials.
