Historic page! We have relocated. Followers of our Twitter account will know that we have recently left the Heritage Centre, and gotten new premises at Porthouse Business Centre. The new location isn’t really set up yet, so our first meeting, this evening, is to start with that task! For an interactive map to our door:…

Thursday 29th April open night

By Nigel Tolley | 2016-04-29 |

Last night the Kids made 5 scribbler robots! The kids had a great time. After that, we completed the fixing of the laser cutter which worked brilliantly on the synthetic mica a member wanted to test cut on. (Yes it is the same photo as last week! The IR laser is invisible to both eyes and…

Finally, after a new visitor tonight pointed out the website still referred to last November, I’m updating it! We will likely be changing this so that it feeds directly from Twitter and Facebook, but in the absence of time for working on code, please take a look at the Make:Bromyard group on Facebook or @MakeBromyard…

Makerspace to the rescue!

By Kate Tolley | 2015-06-11 |

As well as the Scarecrow Festival, last weekend saw Brockhampton Primary School’s summer fayre. I was helping out with the raffle, so I was up there early to help set up. When I arrived, there was a bit of an issue – La Bonbonera’s gazebo was missing a four-way connector (pictured). It was about to…

Flowerdews on the town square – a new project?

By Nigel Tolley | 2015-06-08 |

The Deputy Mayor has asked if we would be up for a challenge! In 2000, in the town square, there was installed a rather clever clock. With three figures, a woman with a fan to protect her modesty, an artist painting, and a peeping tom, linked to a powered mechanism and with the clock in…

Scarecrow festival

By Nigel Tolley | 2015-06-06 |

Currently it is the Bromyard scarecrow festival! You can see our scarecrow in the ‘space window, we are number 23 on the festival route. The entries this year are superb, with several excellent examples very nearby. I think we win on cool props, but we clearly need to work on our scarecrow heads. At least…
