Following a meeting with the Bromyard town council sub-committee last Tuesday, we are likely to be given the use of the building we have been eyeing up to use. There is a full meeting in two weeks time, and this should give us the go ahead to move in.
It is very exciting. We have a number of tools and various electronics ready, including a lathe, a small robot and some RaspberryPi computers. Most excitingly of all though, we have a laser cutter! Retailing at over £3000 this bit of precision CNC gear allows almost anyone to make precise and repeatable parts in anything from sub-millimetre wood veneers to around 8mm thick acrylic, as well as engraving various materials. This will be available to use at cost to members after a short training session, & is frankly brilliant!
